About Chef Dee
April 17, 1982
Dee Hatsady got a job at the Stouffer Hotel as Garde Manger, Production Cook and was later accepted to join the Apprentce Chef Program in that hotel. While working his way up, at the age of 22 he became the restaurant Chef.

March 1987
Dee was transferred to Orlando and rejoined his old chef who he had worked for, while he was in Illinois for 5 years.

November 1988
Dee accepted a position as Executive Chef at a small hotel. He oversaw two restaurants, catering, and a staff of 22 cooks, a Sous Chef, and an Executive Steward.

August 1990

As Executive Chef he opened a steak and seafood restaurant.

1991
As a co-owner he opened a Thai Cuisine in Washington D.C.

1991
Accepted a position as an Executive Sous Chef at a Hilton Hotel.

1993
Accepted a position at Universal Studios as assistant to Garde Manger Chef. After six months, Dee got promoted to Rounds Chef and assisted the VP, Executive Chef Steven Jayson with menu development for all restaurants in the park during its expansion. He also helped him with all special events and the opening of both City Walk and Islands of Adventure. His current position is the overseeing of both parks and the day-to-day kitchen operation.

1999
Silver Metal in Jennie-O’s Signature Recipe Competition.

2000
Gold Metal and First Place in Jennie-O’s Signature Recipe Competition
Gold Metal and Second Place in the Superr Challenge Competition


2001
Coached the Jr. Chef team in the Culinary Cup Competition with the team received First Place and Gold.

2002
- Gold Metal and First Place in the Taste of Elegance Signature Recipe Competition.
- Silver Metal in Super Challenge Competition
- Co-coached the Jr. Chef Team in the Culinary Cup Competition with the team received First Place and Gold.

2003
Co-coached Deaf and impaired cooks in the Jr. Chef Team Competition with the t eam received First Place and Gold.

2004
- Received Chef Par Excellence Honors and $5000 Grand Prize and National Gold metal and National Championship.
- Two Silver Metals for Super Challenge, 3rd and 2nd Place on taste of elegance, Bronze metal on Pasta Signature dish.

2005
Received two Silver Metals for Taste of Elegance with Third Place and forth place on the Super Challenge Competition.
